Standing Elephant
About the African Elephant
African elephants are divided into two populations, the Savanna and Forest elephant, and recent genetic studies have led to a reclassification of these as separate species. African elephants are distinguished from Asian elephants in several ways, the most noticeable being their ears. Africans' ears are much larger and are shaped - some note - like the continent of their origin.
