About the White Alligator
The white alligator is the result of a rare combination of two recessive genes. The probability of this occurrence
happening is thought to be one in ten thousand. These alligators are not an individual species, but rather a rare genetic
mutation to the American alligator. Leucistic alligators have blue or black eyes while true albinos lack all
pigmentation even in the eyes which are pink.
